PRACTICAL VEHICLE INSPECTION DRIVER HANDBOOK

‘Practical Vehicle Inspection’ is a driver handbook for the new Canadian daily vehicle inspection requirements. It provides an overview of the new requirements and detailed information on how to complete the new inspection reports. The book also provides a breakdown of each inspection item that explains why the item is important, how to check it and when it is defective. This section is supported by reference tables of all of the relevant vehicle safety standards. It also includes a chapter on circle-check procedures. All of this is written in an easy style that drivers will find engaging. Full color, 64 pages.

PRACTICAL VEHICLE INSPECTION TRAINING PROGRAM

This training program consists of a CD-based training program, a 128-page instructor manual and 56-page participant manual. Each package includes a CD, an Instructor Manual and one sample copy of the Participant Manual.

The training program offers three main training paths with many links between these paths. This allows each person delivering training to tailor their delivery to suit their audience.

0. The main paths are an executive summary that is designed to help define company policies relating to the new requirements for Daily Vehicle Inspections.
0. The second training path is the core of the program, designed to make drivers fully aware of the new requirements and it allows incorporation of the specific operational needs of each carrier. During this delivery the instructor can access the detailed information on each inspection item that is part of the new driver responsibilities.
0. The third path consists of the detailed information that can also be accessed through the main driver training program. This path allows quick access to any of the items contained in Schedule 1 of National Safety Code Standard 13, for review or to focus on selected schedule items.

PRACTICAL VEHICLE INSPECTION PARTICIPANT MANUAL

This economically priced booklet is a valuable training aid for drivers. It ensures maximum effectiveness of the training delivery and improves driver's retention. This booklet included all the slides in the training program as well as tips on key points that are important for them.

VEHICLE INSPECTION REPORTS

Techni-Com works with the Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) to produce forms that comply with the new daily vehicle inspection requirements. Several stock versions and an almost unlimited variety of custom forms are now available. OTA is among the largest supplier of these forms and driver’s daily logs in Canada. Laminated Schedule 1

All OTA vehicle inspection report products have schedule 1 inside the front cover of the book. Many carriers want their drivers to have a more durable copy of the schedule. This product is printed on heavy card stock, laminted and 3-hole punched, and even has a grommet to allow it to be hung somewhere inside the vehicle. On the back the CTPAT inspection requirements are listed and there is also a summary of Canadian Hours of Service Rules. This is a versatile driver reference.
